Toby Harriman is a 22 year old student studying Web Design in California. He is a self-taught photographer with three years experience. Through experimentation, he has found favor with blending 2 to 5 photos together and creating dynamic images that way. Story Behind:

It was afternoon by the time I woke up and checked out Facebook for a bit. There were quite a few pictures of the aurora borealis from Oregon and I was itching to get some pictures of it. I did some quick research, packed the car and was on the road by 2pm. Spontaneous as it was, it took me almost seven hours to get to Spark Lake, Oregon.

Hurry, I urged myself. I needed to find a place to park and get started on these pictures before it was too late.

I was jittery with excitement. A part of me couldn’t believe the spontaneity of the situation. Had I really just jumped in my car and drove to Oregon for some photos?

H.Y. Bai is from Taiwan. He has been a keen passionate photographer for over twenty years. His photos rely on mood rather than adhering to any strict rules of composition. His photos have appeared in UNI AIR Inflight Magazine, Taiwan High Speed Rail In-Train Magazine, and the Schamp Florence Guide app for iphone. His work has won numerous awards in his native country.

Story Behind:

Life was good. I recalled that the sky was clear blue in the morning so I decided to take a half day from work. I packed my photography equipment and alpine hiking gear and drove towards the Hehuanshan National Forest. The main mountain peak within this steep area sits around three and half thousand metres. I decided to get up there and take some shots of the sunset. It was at least a two and a half hour drive and then another forty-five minute hike by foot to reach the main summit.

I made it to the peak in time and strolled around some little trails to see if I could find anything interesting like wild birds or flowers, but there wasn’t anything special. Tired, I decided to just sit down and just admire the picturesque view. Thirty minutes after the sun went down, I started heading back down the trail.

As I was descending something unusual happened. The sky began to rumble and some flashes light up the sky; my adrenaline spiked. I rushed up to the top of a nearby hill not knowing what to expect.
